Job Description Open To All Applicants Salary is Negotiable
After successful completion of the probationary period, employee
will receive off probation wage increase. Summary: Provide direct
patient care, and perform non-invasive procedures of a routine
nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol. Continuation
of this position is contingent upon funding allocations.
Responsibilities: - Assist with direct patient care procedures and
related tasks; obtaining patient histories, vital signs, and assist
with medical examinations - Perform routine procedures;
venipuncture, EKG, wound care, and sterile dressing changes. -
Maintain stocks of medicines and medical supplies as necessary. -
Advise patient on specified medical issues within established
parameters - Schedule and monitor patient appointments; may
coordinate routine office activities and administrative functions
in support of unit activities. - Practice safety, environmental,
and/or infection control methods. - Obtain accurate demographic,
update information on computer system - Obtain proper signatures
for Medicare Rights Consent for Treatment; assure that patient
rights are distributed - Transports patient from one department to
another. - Administer oral, topical and injectable medications.
Administer immunization vaccines - Enter lab orders - Ensure
adequate stock in each patient room. - May place telephone calls
for providers to other hospitals and agencies - Maintain accurate
record and filing system for patient charts. Ensure that they are
up to date with all procedures - Transmit patient report to billing
department. - Maintain inventory of medication; logs in all
in-coming and out-going medications - Properly label specimen and
record in computer system, store and transport all specimens to the
laboratory. - Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related
results as required - Must comply with Caregiver Law and Grant
conditions criminal history checks as a condition of employment to
include fingerprinting Skills: Essential: - Establish and maintain
professional relationships with co-workers at all levels -
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other
law enforcement/regulatory agencies, departmental staff, tribal
officials, and the public - Obtain additional education and
training - Work independently and in a team environment - Maintain
quality, safety, and/or infection control standards - Comply with
Caregiver Law and Grant conditions criminal history checks as a
condition of employment to include fingerprinting - Knowledge of
patient care charts and patient histories - Knowledge of inventory
management practices - Knowledge of related accreditation and
certification requirements - Knowledge of outpatient clinical
administrative procedures - Preparing and maintaining patient
records - Operating business computers and office machines,
including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel,
Access, and presentation software (such as PowerPoint) - Ability to
perform standard clinical procedures according to established
protocols - Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection
control standards - Ability to schedule appointments - Ability to
observe and record symptoms, reactions, and progress - Ability to
react calmly and effectively in emergency situations - Knowledge of
applicable Oneida Nation, federal, state, county and local laws,
regulations, and requirements - Ability to clearly communicate
medical information to professional practitioners and/or the
general public - Ability to perform routine invasive procedures,
such as venipuncture in accordance with established clinical
protocol. - Ability and willingness to provide strong customer
service orientation - Ability to communicate effectively in the
English language, both verbally and in writing Education
Requirement - Or A Closely Related Field: Essential: - General Ed,
High School Equivalency Diploma, HS Diploma in Education General -
Applicants age 50 and older are exempt from this requirement
Nonessential: *Medical Assistant program from an accredited and/or
approved program. - Willingness to successfully complete national
certification within 1 year of employment. Credentials: Essential:
- Certified Medical Assistant or obtain Medical Assistant diploma
within a (1) year. Nonessential: - Child Abuse Reporting Policy
(CARP) Training (Hrd) within ninety (90) days of employment. -
Health Insurance Portability (HIPAA) Accountability prior to
