give care. Job Summary The Advanced Practice Provider Critical Care
at Prevea is an advanced practice nurse (NP) or physician assistant
(PA) prepared to deliver health care services to patients, families
and groups emphasizing the promotion of health and prevention of
disease under direct supervision and responsibility of physicians
within the inpatient setting. The scope of responsibilities
includes collaborating and coordinating with physicians and other
health professionals regarding critical care practice, education,
consultation, research and program development. What you will do ·
Provides assessment, evaluation, and management with critically ill
patients in collaboration with the medical intensivist. This
includes performing advanced airway and vascular access procedures,
as well as other invasive interventions essential for patient
management in high-acuity settings. · Collaborate with physicians
and other ancillary providers/staff to develop and implement
patient care plans to ensure the best possible care and outcomes of
patients. · Provides services, which may include the ordering of
appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, the prescription of
pharmacological agents, and other non-pharmacological treatment
modalities. · Provides case management services to assist clients
and families with the arrangement for, or refer patients to needed
services. · Provides health counseling and education to patients
and their families about their healthcare and any follow-up
instructions. · Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and
other pertinent information, documenting all details in the
electronic medical record. · Collaborates with patients to review
their health background and determine physiological, emotional, and
environmental needs. Education Qualifications · Graduate of a
master's level nurse practitioner program OR graduate from an
accredited physician assistant program. Required Experience
Qualifications · 1-3 years experience working in an Intensive Care
Unit (ICU) setting Preferred Skills and Abilities · Knowledge of
the information and techniques required to diagnose and treat human
injuries and diseases, including understanding symptoms, treatment
options, drug properties and interactions, and preventive
healthcare measures. · Capable of performing airway management
(intubation), vascular access procedures (central line placement),
and thoracic interventions (chest tube insertion) in high-acuity
settings. · Demonstrate organizational skills that allow timely
assessment and appropriate follow up evaluation. · Presents a
courteous and service-oriented image through positive and helpful
interaction with patients and families, physicians and co-workers.
· Facilitation of multidisciplinary team collaboration for patient
care. · Excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors · Ability to
form work/patient relationships with patients and peers. · Ability
to prioritize work and meet changing demands. · Ability to handle
and process confidential information. · Fosters teamwork through
effective written and verbal communication. Licenses and
Certifications · Individual must posses either the
licenses/certification details of a Nurse Practitioner or a
Physician Assistant. · Nurse Practitioner: Registered nurse in the
state of Wisconsin with a certification through American Nurses
Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse
Practitioner Certification Board (AANPCB). Upon Hire Required ·
Physician Assistant: Licensed by the state of Wisconsin as a
Physician Assistant. Certification from the National Commission on
Certification of Physician Assistant. Upon Hire Required ·
CPR/Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) support for Healthcare
