Job Description:
Ascension, a leading faith-based healthcare organization, is
seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our
dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting our mission of
transforming healthcare and empowering communities with innovative
and compassionate care. As part of our team, you will work
alongside top medical professionals in a supportive and
collaborative environment, utilizing state-of-the-art technology to
assist in surgeries and contribute to safe and effective patient
care. Prepare operating rooms for surgery, including sterilizing
equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Assist
surgeons during operations by passing instruments and other sterile
supplies. Help in the setup and management of surgical equipment.
Maintain a sterile environment to prevent infections during
surgical procedures. Assist in patient preparation for surgery and
monitor patient's condition throughout the procedure. Collaborate
with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficiency and
optimal patient care. Handle and dispose of specimens taken for
laboratory analysis according to facility policies. Follow all
hospital regulations and safety standards to maintain a safe work
environment. Proficiency in operating and sterilizing surgical
equipment. Strong understanding of hygiene and aseptic techniques.
Ability to anticipate surgeon's needs and react quickly under
pressure. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Capability to maintain focus and mental sharpness during complex
surgical procedures. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and
Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification required.
