Job Description Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN DOU - Direct Observation Unit for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: DOU - Direct Observation Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, flexible - Employment Type: Travel Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2556.00 /n/n Opportunity: /n RN - Observation Unit /n/n Job Details: /n • Work 12-hour day/night variable shifts /n• 36 guaranteed hours per week /n• 13-week assignment starting ASAP /n• Every other weekend and every other holiday required /n• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units /n• Can be low censused and put on call with 2-hour minimum callback /n• Work in 8-bed observation unit with 1:4 patient ratio /n• Care for patients with anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre and post-op urology and GI cases /n• Manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitro, insulin, and Heparin /n• Handle high volume of admissions and discharges with average stays up to 48 hours /n• Must have 3 years experience and 1 travel assignment required /n• EPIC charting experience required /n• Background in observation units or MS/Tele units required /n• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips required /n• Must take EKG exam during compliance /n• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS required, NIHSS highly preferred /n• Must be outside 50-mile radius from facility /n• Any color scrubs acceptable /n• Associate degree or certificate required /n• Must wear mask at all times if declining flu and COVID vaccination during flu season /n/n Facility: /n This healthcare organization operates a comprehensive medical center featuring an 8-bed short stay observation unit designed for intermediate care.
